The Mule (or Buck) is named so for the kick of spice that comes from the ginger used in the recipe. The Mommenpop Mule gets an added kick from Makrut Limepop - our zesty, limited-release made with the remarkably aromatic and incredibly sour Makrut lime. The simplest form of a Mule features vodka, lime, and spicy ginger beer...but with the addition of fresh ginger syrup and Limepop, we bring you an enticingly fragrant riff on the standard.
1.5 oz vodka
1 oz Makrut Limepop
.75 oz lime juice
.5 oz ginger syrup or simple syrup*
2 oz dry ginger beer
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with 5-6 ice cubes and shake hard for 10 seconds.
Add ginger beer to the tin and strain into a chilled mule mug or highball glass.
Add ice and garnish with a bushy bouquet of mint.
*Combine equal parts boiling water to cane sugar, by volume. Stir and allow to dissolve. For ginger simple syrup, combine 32 oz of hot simple syrup with 1 cup of freshly chopped ginger root to a blender. Blend on high and strain. Keeps refrigerated for ~2 weeks.
