May we present the cocktail that's all the rage these days: the espresso martini. We make our riff using smoky mezcal that plays oh so well with Mommenpop Ruby Grapefruit's barely bitter notes. Perfect after dinner served up in a freezing cold coupe glass, or over ice in a highball with a splash of tonic water for brunch.
1.5 oz Mommenpop Ruby Grapefruit
1 oz espresso
.75 oz mezcal
.5 oz coffee liqueur
.5 oz simple syrup
3 dashes orange bitters
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with 4-5 ice cubes and shake hard for 10 seconds.
Strain into a chilled coupe glass.
Garnish with a grapefruit twist expressed over the glass and set on the side.
